Found Fruit Wine-Making Audio Stories

Forage Oakland looking for a few good folks to share their found fruit wine-making stories. The stories will be debuted in 2 weeks' time, and I am currently soliciting stories about the following:

Nocino-making
Experiments in making limoncello
Plum wine crafting

...and more. I am specifically looking to capture audio stories, no longer than 90 seconds in length. If you or anyone you know might be interested in contributing to this collection, please do email: forageoakland@gmail.com.

Well, you know I made some Nocino. I can contribute to this project.

I would look up Bill Owens in Hayward. I used to work next door from him. He is a famous photographer, pioneer in Brewing, former owner of Buffalo Bill's Brewery on B Street in Hayward. He once published magazines about home brewing. I recently contacted him "just to say hi", after reading a write-up about his work in Diablo Magazine. Shortly thereafter, I believe he was profiled in the Smithsonian Magazine. I'm sure he knows a thing or two about fermenting fruit. I think he mentioned something about foraging pears for wine or something such as that. Smiles.

My first try at a cab was a disaster (I think I ended up with some cleaning solution/acid in my batch). Since that first attempt, I have found that it is both a science, and an art! My second batch was a success, and a good one if I don't say so myself. I did find a website that helped a ton though (broke down and paid, but well worth it) at www.how-to-make-wine.com I am sure there are others too. Cheers!
